Debates on Execution of RA State Budget for 2019 in Parliament Continue

On June 11, the joint sitting of the RA NA Standing Committees on Regional and Eurasian Integration and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs moderated by Mikayel Melkumyan and Mane Tandilyan was held. The executive document and the programmes aimed at the processes of the integration of our country were debated.

The RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan informed that in 2019 there was no money allocated from the state budget for the EEU membership, and during the financial year additional sums of money entered into the RA state budget from the customs duties to the EEU common border. Atom Janjughazyan noted that various discussions were held in the EEU framework, which related to the use of the anti-budgetary rules, and the discussions are underway.

The RA Deputy Prime Minister, the member of the Eurasian Economic Committee Council Mher Grigoryan informed that in 2019 Armenia chaired in the EEU, and the financial year passed with full agenda.

The Deputy Prime Minister has considered a positive achievement also the decision made last December, as a result of which, Armenia imports with privileged customs duty about 640 kinds of goods from the third countries. They are mainly food and medicine.

According to Mher Grigoryan, the issue of importing cars to Armenia accumulated in Georgia and on the border was also succeeded to settle. Effective works had been done related to the EEU five-year strategy, etc.

The RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan presented the activities done by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the framework of the EEU membership, touching upon the works of signing a number of agreements.

The second direction of the Ministry is to give a position on the countries wishing to receive a status of an observer in the EEU. Shavarsh Kocharyan has informed that today only Moldova has a status as an observer in the EEU, Cuba and Uzbekistan applied for getting such status.

The Deputy Foreign Minister has clarified that the countries that apply for receiving a status of an observer assume certain obligations, due to which they cannot take steps harming the interest of the EEU member countries.
